Into the Mystery CD Cover

Into The Mystery is the debut solo release from Ellicott City composer Kathryn Turyna.  A mixture of simple chant-like melodies combined with bits of contemporary twentieth century harmony creates a unique blend of the musical past and present.  With a fantastic group of singers which features Erin Holmes, Jeanne LaFrance, Ashley Cameron, David Hill, and Pat Klink performing a capella or singing melodies over spoken prayers and hypnotic hand drum, it is ideal for times of meditation and prayer.

A Work For Charity:  I wanted very much to be able to give something back to help others with the proceeds of this project. Twenty percent of the profits from the project will go directly to The Little Sisters of The Poor.  They are an organization which helps the elderly who have no where to go, as well as those who are counted among the poor.  My goal is to write a check for $2000 to this wonderful organization.  I will be keeping updates posted as to how much I have raised so far. Note: The Little Sisters of the Poor are also raising money to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  When you buy this cd or make donations, you will be taking part in giving back to those who are in need.

All of the samples you will hear have been edited in some way. Often this means that the music does not play straight through as on the cd, but rather may have a shortened introduction and then jump to a later part of the song. This was done to give you a better idea of the feeling of the entire song instead of just the beginning being available.
